The Dallas Cowboys are currently 3-3 on the season. They've had some embarrassing losses thus far on the year and have an NFC showdown on Sunday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.

They know the pressure is continuing to mount and that can force people to press. The Cowboys are going to need more from their star players to get this thing back on track.

Receiver CeeDee Lamb is one of those guys. The Oklahoma product recently had an interview with Jason Garrett of NBC Sports. There, he discussed his slow start and provided an excuse for it.

Cowboys News: Ceedee Lamb Talks About His Start to the Season

Garrett asked Lamb if missing training camp played a role in why he and Dak Prescott aren't quite on the same page to begin the season.

Lamb responded, "Absolutely. I'm going to be truthful. And I will say, it's not going to be just a pick-up from what we were at the end of the season last year. But with everything that we have built up, we'll be fine."

The 25-year-old missed the majority of training camp as he was holding out in an effort to land a new contract. Lamb and the Cowboys agreed to terms on a four-year, $136 million deal on Aug. 26.

Although he became the second-highest-paid WR in the league, he missed valuable reps throughout the summer. That has led to some chemistry issues with Prescott early on in the season. In 2024, Lamb has 32 receptions for 467 yards and two touchdowns. He's failed to notch 100-plus receiving yards in any game this year.

The Cowboys need more from their star WR and he knows it. It starts in Week 8 against the 49ers in a pivotal matchup.
