NFL Insider Leaks Positive Dalvin Cook News Ahead of Week 8
The Dallas Cowboys are going to play against the San Francisco 49ers in a primetime battle on Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys are 3-3 and the 49ers sit at 3-4.
This contest will be ultra important for playoff seeding down the line. Both teams know that and have been preparing all week. Dallas can't afford to drop this NFC contest coming out of the bye.
They understand that, as they could be switching things up in Week 8. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler released an article with the latest buzz around the NFL. In that piece, he revealed that Dalvin Cook has a shot of making his Cowboys debut.
Cowboys News: Dalvin Cook Has a Good Chance of Making 2024 Debut
Cook has had a solid week of practice and has a great chance of being elevated to the active roster on Sunday.
"Cowboys running back Dalvin Cook's chances are better than ever to make his season debut Sunday night against San Francisco. A team source said Cook was "getting closer" after this week's practices. There's no firm determination yet on his availability -- Dallas will decide Saturday whether to elevate him from the practice squad -- but Cook is ready for his chance and had a productive practice week."

Head coach Mike McCarthy echoed a similar sentiment, saying Cook was "in a position to play."
The Cowboys need to shuffle some things around in the backfield. They are currently last in the NFL in rushing yards per game (77.2) and rushing touchdowns (2). Rico Dowdle leads the team with 246 rushing yards and Ezekiel Elliott has 115 rushing yards. Those numbers aren't good enough and the ground attack needs some juice.
Cook isn't the same player he used to be in his prime but he could provide a spark back there. We'll have to wait and see if the Florida State product gets elevated. The arrow is pointing up for the 29-year-old though.
