The Dallas Cowboys are still searching for their first win of the season after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in their season opener. Now, it's onto the New York Giants in Week 2, and Cowboys fans are hoping to see a more complete performance from the team's receiving room.

Despite their otherwise strong outing, Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were dragged through the media earlier this week after several untimely drops against the Eagles, including one on a deep post route that could have changed the outlook of the game down the stretch.

With those memories still fresh in his head, Lamb is eagerly anticipating this Sunday's NFC East showdown with the Giants. In fact, Lamb has just noted how he has a little something extra in store for second-year Giants defensive back Dru Phillips, who injured the star Cowboys playmaker on an attempted tackle this past season.

"(Phillips) tackled me and hurt me, so I've got something for him. For sure." Lamb said on Thursday, via Tommy Yarish of DallasCowboys.com.

Lamb was already playing through an AC joint sprain when the Cowboys met the Giants this past Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, a hit delivered by Phillips just worsened the injury for the Cowboys star. This hit took Lamb out of that game and, ultimately, ended his 2024 season. With that in mind, Lamb is more than ready to see Phillips lined up across from him this Sunday.

Through one game, Lamb has graded out solidly on the Pro Football Focus scale. In addition to having a solid overall grade of 68.0, his pass-catching grade is 67.6, both of which come in above the league average. As strong as those grades are, one can't help but wonder what they'd look like had Lamb held onto the ball better, especially since those marks are below his usual output.

If history is any indication, Lamb is on track to make some noise this weekend. Dallas' WR1 has racked up 859 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 10 career clashes with the Giants, which includes three 100-yard performances.

Lamb sounds like a player who is poised to deliver a big-time performance, and only time will tell what he has in store for Phillips and the Giants on Sunday afternoon.
