The Dallas Cowboys are desperately looking for their next head coach. After parting ways with Mike McCarthy earlier in the week before negotiations could even begin, Jerry Jones has been looking for his replacement. One name that has been at the forefront of all speculations is former Cowboys star Deion Sanders.

Jones and Sanders had preliminary discussions earlier in the week. Coach Prime is considered to be at the top of the list for Dallas and seems like the perfect Jerry Jones hire with his ability to grab headlines.

According to the latest reports, his chances of being the next head coach for the Cowboys have increased tremendously. NFL reporter and Cowboys insider Ed Werder reported on Thursday that Sanders would "almost certainly" accept if offered the job. Those around him are reportedly encouraging him to pursue the position and Jones is "enamored" with the idea of hiring him.

Deion Sanders Reportedly "Almost Certainly" Would Accept Cowboys Job

The Cowboys are expected to interview two former NFL head coaches in Robert Saleh and Leslie Frazier. Former Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is also on the shortlist of candidates for the Cowboys.

These names are in stark contrast to Deion Sanders. Saleh and Frazier are experienced head coaches who have decades of NFL experience on the sidelines. Moore is a widely respected NFL coordinator who should have plenty of suitors on the coaching carousel.

Coach Prime, however, is a high-risk, high-reward candidate that no one knows what to expect on the field. We know that it will be fun and entertaining with a chance of being an unmitigated chaos. All signs are pointing to Colorado head coach making the transition to the NFL.
