The city of New Orleans, LA has made its fair share of NFL headlines recently. Not only was "The Big Easy" the site of Super Bowl 59, but it's also where former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore will be spending the foreseeable future after being hired as the new Saints head coach.
Moore was popular in Dallas through his time with the franchise (2018-22) and was even someone who Cowboys fans wanted to see as head coach next season. The Cowboys ended up hiring Brian Schottenheimer instead as Moore continued on his Super Bowl run before joining the Saints earlier this week.
As it turns out, Moore isn't the only ex-Cowboys coach who's heading to NOLA this month.
Cowboys News: Saints Hire Chase Haslett as TEs Coach
The Saints are hiring Chase Haslett as their new tight ends coach, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The Clayton, MO native most recently spent the last five seasons working with the Cowboys in various roles but left town once Schottenheimer took over.

Haslett making the move to New Orleans is far from surprising for a few reasons.
For starters, Moore was the Cowboys offensive coordinator when the franchise hired Haslett as an offensive quality control coach in 2020. The duo spent three seasons working alongside each other before Moore left to be the Los Angeles Chargers OC in 2023, which coincided with Haslett's promotion to assistant tight ends coach — the same year Jake Ferguson made his Pro Bowl debut.
Haslett most recently spent the 2024 campaign as ex-HC Mike McCarthy's pass game coordinator.
Another potential reason behind Haslett's latest career decision could be his New Orleans connection. His father, Jim, is a former NFL head coach who led the team from 2000 to 2005, which includes being named Coach of the Year during his inaugural season.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact the younger Haslett will have on the Saints' TEs. Both Juwan Johnson (50 catches, 548 yards, 3 TDs) and Foster Moreau (32 catches, 413 yards, 5 TDs) had decent 2024 performances, however, neither tight end performed consistently enough to make a bigger impact.
The Cowboys won't play the Saints in 2025, meaning it'll be at least another year before Dallas fans are reunited with the Moore-Haslett tandem.
