The Dallas Cowboys 2024 season looks like it's officially over after they lost 27-20 to the Cincinnati Bengals. They are now 5-8 on the season and their chances of making the playoffs are less than 1% according to NFL.com.

In the process of the loss, Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown left the game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. He was quickly ruled out, indicating the injury was bad. Shortly after the game, Overshown posted an emotional message on X.

On his X account, Overshown tweeted, "Wouldn’t want this for anyone else! One of God’s Toughest Soldiers. Keep me in your prayers."

After the game, you could feel the heartbreak from multiple members of the organization. Head coach Mike McCarthy said, "it's of a serious nature" and "it's not good," as sources believe Overshown suffered more than an ACL tear in his knee.

Dallas star Micah Parsons was also hurt to see his teammate go down with a significant injury.

"I cried. It's like my little bro, bro. He doesn't deserve that, either. He really don't. Just to understand what he's going to go through and to be there for him physically, mentally. It's just so challenging because of the year he was having. I really just don't think that's fair, either."

The 24-year-old missed his rookie season with a torn left ACL, and now it looks like he will have to rehab his way back from another serious knee injury.

The Texas product was an athletic force in the middle of the field for the Cowboys, who was constantly around the football. In 2024, he had 90 total tackles, five sacks, five pass deflections, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one defensive touchdown.

He will have a long road back onto the field, and his status for the beginning of the 2025 season could be in doubt. Dallas had multiple key contributors go down for the season with injuries and Overshown unfortunately joined the list in Week 14.
