The 2025 NFL offseason has featured plenty of news featuring former Dallas Cowboys. A player becomes associated with America's Team for life as soon as they join the organization, and Dallas fans always enjoy an opportunity to catch up on an ex-Cowboy, whether they enjoyed a brief cup of coffee in the Lone Star State or are a long-time fan favorite.
Plenty of former Cowboys players are looking for fresh starts this summer as the next NFL campaign looms. That includes one ex-Dallas depth piece who's officially returning to the league after spending nearly two years out of it.
Former Cowboys TE Seth Green Signs with Saints After Minicamp
On Wednesday morning, ESPN's Katherine Terrell reported that the New Orleans Saints have signed former Cowboys tight end Seth Green. The 27-year-old pass-catcher recently had a tryout with the Saints last week after spending two seasons with the United Football League's Arlington Renegades.
I'm told the Saints have signed TE Seth Green following a tryout last week. He was previously playing for the Arlington Renegades of the UFL and not eligible to sign a contract until the UFL season ended.

During his time with the Renegades, Green hauled in 24 catches across 20 games (8 starts) for 236 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Although that's far from the most eye-popping performance, he could have what it takes to be a decent depth option in NOLA.
Green spent five seasons at the University of Minnesota before transferring to Houston for the 2021 campaign. He made 19 catches for 240 yards and three TDs throughout that time, which was enough to convince the Houston Texans to sign him as an undrafted free agent right after the 2022 NFL Draft. He ended up posting four catches for 40 yards that preseason.
Green's time with the Texans didn't last long, as the Cowboys signed him to their practice squad in October 2022. He didn't make a single regular-season appearance for Dallas, though, and was eventually waived as a part of the final roster cuts before the 2023 campaign.
It'll be interesting to see if Green's newest opportunity leads to an actual role with the Saints. Juwan Johnson and Jack Stoll are New Orleans' healthiest TEs at the moment, as the versatile Tayson Hill is still recovering from an ACL tear while Foster Moreau has missed time this summer with his own injuries.
In other words, the door is wide open for the ex-Cowboy to steal a roster spot, leaving time to tell if he'll make the most of his fresh start or fumble it all together.
