Cowboys Get Disappointing Micah Parsons Injury Update Ahead of Week 8
The Dallas Cowboys are looking to kick things off on a good note following their bye week. The Cowboys will travel to play the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8.
Dallas is sitting at 3-3 and has a big-time showdown against a NFC rival. With that on the horizon, the latest injury update on EDGE Micah Parsons doesn't give fans hope that he will suit up.
Dallas News: Micah Parsons Still Isn’t Practicing
Head coach Mike McCarthy revealed that Parsons will once again be in the rehab group during Friday's practice. The Penn State product hasn't practiced this week and it appears his chances of suiting up are slim.
In Week 4, Parsons suffered a high-ankle sprain against the New York Giants and has been sidelined ever since. There was some initial belief that Parsons would be in the fold following the bye week but that isn't the case. Parsons' ankle isn't ready yet and the Cowboys will have to make do without him.
That is tough for the defensive front that will be without Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Marshawn Kneeland.
They'll need to find a way to generate pressure and cause problems for Brock Purdy and company. It has been rough for Dallas in the last couple of matchups against the 49ers. San Francisco has won three straight against the Cowboys, including a 42-10 blowout in 2023.
The Cowboys can't afford something like that happening again, as that would bode terribly amongst the fanbase and locker room. Mike Zimmer will have his hands full scheming up ways to slow down the 49ers without his best defender but that's why he paid the big bucks. They need to figure something out and hope that Parsons is ready to roll in the near future.
