The Dallas Cowboys are focusing on the rest of the NFL offseason now that the 2025 draft is in the rearview mirror. Although America's Team had one of the league's best performances in Green Bay last week, some Cowboys fans were left feeling somewhat disappointed after owner/general manager Jerry Jones went seven rounds without drafting a wide receiver.
Although the Cowboys have since signed undrafted wideouts Traeshon Holden and Joshua Kelly, the WR room still needs help and even the front office knows it. At least, that's the impression Jones gave off when he told reporters following the draft that wide receiver "definitely was a big-time thought" last week and that "the train has not left the station" to find help.
As the Cowboys continue searching for receiving-related help, their pressing need might have put them on the path to a reunion with a former fan favorite.
Cowboys Eyeing Potential Reunion With WR Amari Cooper After Draft
On Monday afternoon, Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Nick Harris reported that the Cowboys are eyeing a reunion with five-time Pro Bowl wideout Amari Cooper.
"There is building team interest in bringing free agent Amari Cooper back for a reunion in Dallas," Harris wrote, per his sources. "Team interest is one thing, but the appeal will have to be reciprocated by Cooper if the two sides do, in fact, connect over a second stint with the Cowboys."

It's been quite some time since fans saw Cooper in a Cowboys jersey.
Acquired from the then-Oakland Raiders in October 2018, the former Alabama playmaker played parts of three seasons in Dallas before being traded to the Cleveland Browns during the 2022 offseason. He then stuck with the Browns before being moved to the Buffalo Bills before last season's trade deadline.
As much as fans would love to see Cooper reunited with quarterback Dak Prescott, there's a chance that the veteran receiver isn't the same player fans remember.
During his time with the Cowboys, Cooper converted 292 receptions into 3,893 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns in 56 games, cementing himself as one of the NFL's top wideouts. That trend continued with a 150-2,410-14 stat line in his first two seasons with the Browns, however, that's where his elite production stopped.
Cooper was only averaging four catches and 41.7 receiving yards in his first six games with the Browns last season, and his supporters hoped that a trade to the Bills would get him back on track. Instead, his catch and yardage averages dropped to 2.5 and 37.1, respectively, in eight regular-season outings with Buffalo before posting a forgettable 6-41-0 line in three postseason appearances.
By the time the dust settled, Cooper's 68.7 offense and 68.9 receiving grades on Pro Football Focus marked his worst performance since 2017.
Nevertheless, a reunion with the team he had the most success with could be exactly what Cooper needs. He was one of the best weapons Prescott ever had, and the duo could create even more havoc now that Lambs — one of the NFL's top-five WRs — is playing to his potential.
With how fast the NFL offseason moves, don't be surprised if the Cowboys convince Cooper to put pen to paper sooner rather than later.
