The Dallas Cowboys season hasn't gone the way many have envisioned and hoped. They entered the campaign with Super Bowl hopes, but those went up in flames when Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury.

They have won two straight games and now sit with a 5-7 record, Despite the newfound hope of making a playoff push, the focus for many members of the national media has switched over to the 2025 offseason.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic released his first mock draft of the year and had the Cowboys adding a playmaker with their first-round pick.

Cowboys News: Dallas Adds to Offense in Mock Draft

In this mock draft, the Cowboys have the 13th overall pick and they selected Missouri WR Luther Burden III.

"The cries for Ashton Jeanty here will be loud — and it wouldn’t be surprising if, ultimately, he is Dallas’ pick. But the Cowboys also need more explosive options in the passing game, and their in-season trade for Jonathan Mingo won’t prevent them from going receiver in Round 1. Despite a mediocre 2024 campaign, Burden is strong at the catch point and at his best creating with the ball in his hands."

Burden III would be a great addition to the offense and would give CeeDee Lamb a solid running mate.

He's terrific after the catch and has great contact balance in the open field. In his collegiate career, Burden III has compiled 192 receptions for 2,263 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns.

Giving Prescott another option in the passing attack will open things up for everyone on the offense and make things easier on the signal caller.
