The Dallas Cowboys roll into Week 14 feeling good about themselves. They've won two straight games and square off against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.

Leading up to the game, they were busy working out multiple players in the secondary but decided to leave a former All-Pro on the market.

Cowboys News: Cowboys Added Two Players to Their Secondary on Wednesday

Per Calvin Watkins of Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys worked out Xavien Howard, Troy Pride, Joshuah Bledsoe, and Dee Delaney on Wednesday. They ultimately signed Delaney and Pride to their practice squad, leaving Howard on the open market.

Dallas placed Josh Butler and Caelen Carson on IR earlier in the day. Trevon Diggs' status is up in the air as he's dealing with groin/knee injuries.

The Cowboys needed some reinforcements in the secondary but didn't add Howard, who was Second-Team All-Pro in 2018 and First-Team All-Pro in 2020. Back in March, Howard was released by the Miami Dolphins and hasn't landed another opportunity since then.

Last season with Miami, Howard struggled immensely. According to PFF, the Baylor product finished with a 55.1 overall grade and a 51.9 coverage grade, which is 176th among 229 eligible cornerbacks. He looked a step slower and wasn't making plays on the ball like he used to.

Delany was waived by the Buffalo Bills in September due to a knee injury. Meanwhile, Pride was on the Houston Texans practice squad but was let go in October. He has eight starts in his career, logging 42 tackles and two pass breakups.

It's clear that these two guys looked better during the workout, which is why Howard wasn't picked up.
