Cowboys have obvious CB solution staring right in front of them

It makes too much sense.

The Dallas Cowboys had one of the most explosive offenses in the league last season. Unfortunately, you also have to stop teams from scoring, and Brian Schottenheimer's team wasn't nearly as good in that regard.

The Cowboys had one of the worst defenses in franchise history. As such, it wasn't much of a surprise to see team owner/GM Jerry Jones pull the plug on Matt Eberflus and replace him with Christian Parker.

Now, with several reinforcements on that side of the field, the new-look Cowboys can't afford to get complacent. Considering that, they should get former Super Bowl champion L'Jarius Sneed on the phone.

The Cowboys should make a run at L'Jarius Sneed

Granted, Sneed has struggled with subpar performances, injuries, and some serious accusations off the field since he left the Kansas City Chiefs. That said, he was acquitted, and he's finally healthy for the first time in two years.

The 28-year-old can play in the slot or outside, giving the new defensive coordinator -- who also happens to be a former DB coach -- some versatility to work with, depending on how every CB not named DaRon Bland may fare.

Sneed used to be one of the prime head-hunting cornerbacks in the game when he was with the Chiefs. Pro Football Focus gave him an 81.9 pass-rushing grade in 2023, and he drew a coverage grade of at least 71.2 in three of his four years with the organization.

He has logged 29 pass breakups and 11 interceptions in his career, though none of them came with the Tennessee Titans. That said, it's hard to judge a player by his production for a bad team, and it's hard to believe anybody else would've done a much better job in his place.

Sneed is just 29 years old and has extensive postseason experience. He excelled in the boundary or as a nickel guy, depending on what Steve Spagnuolo needed from him, and there's a reason why the Titans willingly gave up a third-round pick and then gave him a $76 million contract extension.

The Cowboys have already made some major moves to fix their secondary, but that only makes this potential signing even better. They don't need him to be the same rising star and shutdown corner he was in his heyday, and whatever he can give them is a plus. He'd be insurance as a low-risk/high-reward guy, and if he doesn't pan out, the Cowboys won't be on the hook for the long run. They literally have nothing to lose with this move.
