The Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl on Sunday night, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 40-22. The second championship in franchise history came with a dominating defensive performance that helped the Eagles topple the Chiefs dynasty and ruin their plans to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
All of this is a reason for Eagles fans to celebrate – and they did plenty of that on Sunday night. But even as Philadelphia climbed back to the top of the mountain, they took some time to show that the Dallas Cowboys still live rent-free in their minds.
Eagles Fans Show Cowboys Are Still on Their Mind With Post-Super Bowl Chant
Eagles fans took their time leaving the Caesars Superdome on Sunday night as they celebrated their win over the Chiefs. But even as they reveled in a Super Bowl victory, The Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski pointed out that several fans that stuck around proceed to engage in a “Dallas sucks” chant.
Eagles fans that have hung around in the stadium are now chanting “Dallas sucks.”

This isn’t meant to imply that Cowboys fans can’t handle a little ribbing. The Eagles-Cowboys rivalry is one of the most intense in the NFL and poking fun at your rival is something that comes with the territory. But the odd part of this chant is the timing.
Think about it this way. Eagles fans should be on cloud nine, winning their second Super Bowl in the past eight years and avenging a Super Bowl loss to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and their former head coach Andy Reid from two years ago. They are a two-mile walk away from Bourbon Street and about to have one of the best nights of their lives and the first thing on their minds is to troll the Cowboys?
It’s also strange considering the Eagles already proved their point in the two meetings with Dallas this season, winning by a combined score of 75-13. Both meetings occurred without Dak Prescott at quarterback, but it’s a little alarming considering the lopsided nature of those wins wasn't enough for Eagles fans to celebrate beating the Cowboys over winning a Super Bowl.
Perhaps Eagles fans are still bitter about the three Super Bowls Dallas claimed in the 1990s which is more than they have in their entire franchise history. Sure, the Cowboys haven’t returned to the Super Bowl since 1995 and could be in the middle of an identity crisis but there also isn’t a strange obsession toward beating Philadelphia.
Maybe that will change now that the Eagles are on top of the NFL again. But it still remains that the Eagles might care more about beating the Cowboys than the other way around.
