It was tough, but the Dallas Cowboys cut down their roster following the 2026 preseason. Some moves, like getting rid of 2025 fifth-round running back Jaydon Blue, were surprising, but it may signal another move to come. One thing fans have to be excited about, though, is the UDFA Camden Brown making his mark.
The Cowboys have kept Camden Brown on their roster, further solidifying that hard work does indeed pay off, and Brown has earned every right to have a spot on this roster.
It looked like he and Mingo were in a "battle" for that last WR spot, but it was the story of both Mingo and Brown making the cut, and this was one of the best-earned stories in the Cowboys' offseason, no doubt.

Many weren't thinking a UDFA WR would make an impact this much on the stage, but let's break down what he did in the preseason from Brandon Loree, a staff writer from Blogging the Boys.

This includes a one-handed grab against the Seahawks, where he showed incredible concentration and hauled it in. If you're Brown, you've got to feel good about your spot, because Mingo doesn't have a great track record, and the youngster is breathing down Mingo's neck.
Mingo has six catches for 71 yards since joining the Cowboys. He can be a deep threat downfield, and he's shown that in this preseason, but can he show that in the actual games?
Mingo was already "on the bubble" to start the preseason, but he turned a heck of a preseason into a roster spot, and he's going to be the fifth WR. If he can turn that into something positive this season, it'll be worth it. But again, he's No. 5 on the depth chart in one of the best WR rooms.
Brown is going to be playing loose with nothing to lose, and as the sixth WR, he may not be much of a force anyway. It's going to take some injuries to get him involved on the roster, but he earned the spot.
This is going to be a heck of an offense to watch, but fans are thankful to see justice prevail in the preseason to see the UDFA make the 53-man roster.
