Even though we are only heading into Week 8, the Cowboys' season seems to be teetering on collapsing.

They are currently 3-3 but have a big-time NFC showdown against the San Francisco 49ers on the horizon. Many people around the league don't believe in the Cowboys' chances this season.

Now owner Jerry Jones' latest comments on Tuesday paint a terrible picture around head coach Mike McCarthy. And the Cowboys should just part ways with the 60-year-old head coach.

Cowboys News: Jerry Jones Takes a Shot at Mike McCarthy

During his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones took a jab at the Cowboys offense.

"We're designing bad plays or we're designing bad concepts. The facts are there's some of that but there's also some of execution. "

-Β Jerry Jones

The way things are trending, it appears more and more likely that the Cowboys will move on from McCarthy. He entered the season with one year left on his deal and didn't receive an extension. Even though the Cowboys have won 12 games in three straight years, he hasn't convinced management enough to invest in him for the long term.

That wasn't the only jab that Jones took at McCarthy on Tuesday. Troy Aikman publicly criticized the Cowboys' receivers. McCarthy recanted those statements and backed his players. But what did Jones do? He agreed with Aikman, pushing his coach further into a corner.

With each passing day, McCarthy's time in Dallas is running out. Jones clearly wants someone new to run the show and his public statements about the team indicate that. McCarthy needs to look over his shoulder and get his team to play better. If not, he could out of a job rather quickly.
