The Dallas Cowboys have dropped to 3-7 on the season after falling 34-10 to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. They entered the fourth quarter down 20-10 before the wheels fell off.

The Cowboys have now lost five games in a row and are 0-5 at AT&T Stadium in 2024. Owner Jerry Jones has said on multiple occasions that the team won't make any in-season changes, but they should get ahead of the inevitable and let go of head coach Mike McCarthy.

The team isn't going to extend McCarthy after the year, so they might as well part ways now. This team isn't going to make any serious moves as the year is lost.

The only time that Jones fired a coach in the season was back in 2010 when he fired Wade Phillips and replaced him with Jason Garrett.

The Cowboys consistently look lost out there on the field, and it's been the same thing on a weekly basis. The same mistakes and lack of attention to detail.

They are already without Dak Prescott for the year, and he will be rehabbing for the 2025 season. Ownership needs to start thinking about the future, and that starts with the head coach. Management clearly had reservations about McCarthy, as they didn't give him a new deal prior to the start of the season. There's no reason to fake it anymore. The 2024 season is over, so they might as well move from McCarthy after another double-digit loss at home.
