Cowboys Starter Suffers Big Injury in First Half vs. Texans
The 2024 season hasn't been smooth sailing for the Dallas Cowboys. They are seeking to halt their four-game losing streak against the Houston Texans in Week 11.
They are already without quarterback Dak Prescott for the remainder of the season, but they also lost another starter on the offensive end early in the matchup vs. the Texans.
Cowboys News: Jake Ferguson is Ruled Out for Remainder of MNF Contest
Per Todd Archer, tight end Jake Ferguson is out for the game with a concussion. The third-year tight end appeared to enter concussion protocol sometime in the first quarter and was quickly ruled out.
Ferguson only missed one game this season due to a sprained MCL that he suffered in Week 1. This season, he has logged 42 catches for 358 yards and 8.5 yards per catch.
Before exiting the game, he had one reception for 11 yards.
The Cowboys are already without Prescott, so losing another starter isn't ideal for the team. Head coach Mike McCarthy has to manufacture touches for his best playmakers to make things easier on quarterback Cooper Rush.
Now, with Ferguson out for the game, the pressure only increases on CeeDee Lamb and the rest of the playmakers around him. This is a game where McCarthy needs to get into his bags of tricks and create explosive plays.
When you lose quality starters on the team, the coach needs to elevate his game and mask the loss. That's what Dallas will need to pull off this victory and get back into the win column.
