The Dallas Cowboys underwent a ton of changes this offseason. They made moves in free agency, the NFL draft, and the trade market to improve their roster. Some of these moves have the fan base thrilled and ready to get things rolling.
One of the biggest changes came on the sidelines, as they replaced Mike McCarthy with Brian Schottenheimer. The first time head coach gave the team a jolt of energy, and it's already rubbing off on some players.
Dallas safety Juanyeh Thomas posted a picture on his X account giving Schottenheimer a handshake during practice. The caption on the picture said, "Fun again."
It didn't stop there, though, as linebacker DeMarvion Overshown quote-tweeted the picture and commented, "I told y'all."
These statements clearly show these players are happy with the new coaching staff in place and didn't seem to have fun under McCarthy.

Despite only getting hired in January, it already sounds like Schottenheimer has been able to change the energy around the building. OTAs got underway on May 19 and will run through June as Schottenheimer builds the team in his image.
Even though no games have taken place yet, it is obvious players are having more fun now. That goes a long way considering the Cowboys are looking to take that next step forward in 2025.
Dallas made the playoffs in three of the five seasons under McCarthy but they failed to get over the hump. There were times the Cowboys didn't look ready to play, and they came out flat at times. A lot of that goes on the coach, and it's clear he didn't make things enjoyable for his players.
Schottenheimer has used the past couple of months to establish the culture he wants to build, and it looks like these players are already bought in.
