On Friday morning, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the relationship between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys was souring amid stalled contract talks. Despite Cowboys fans not wanting to hear this news, no one is surprised. It was only a matter of time before a star player had had enough of Jerry Jones delaying contracts.
That said, members of the Cowboys roster have already begun to show support for Parsons on social media. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown changed his profile picture to an image of himself alongside Parsons.
While it may seem like a small gesture, it’s meaningful considering the timing. RJ Ochoa of SB Nation pointed it out, suggesting that players are beginning to take a public stance in backing their defensive leader.
Cowboys players are (seemingly) taking to social media to show their support for Micah Parsons.

If you are the front office and EVEN IF you feel conviction in your stance (whatever it is)-
At some point isn't it worth compromising on your end? For the guy the team rides for? https://t.co/TkSUywjMZj
Cowboys Players Have Micah Parsons' Back amid Contract Dispute
Parsons receiving support from his teammates shouldn't surprise Cowboys fans. The All-Pro pass rusher is a beloved member of the locker room and arguably the heart of the defense. He’s close with several teammates, including star cornerback Trevon Diggs, who has also had issues with the Cowboys' front office this offseason.
Without Parsons, the Cowboys' pass rush takes a major hit. Thus, leaving their secondary more exposed. His value on and off the field is obvious, and teammates know it. That’s why even subtle actions like social media support carry weight.
Ochoa also mentioned that this visible support from inside the locker room could pressure the Cowboys’ front office. If players show public support for Parsons, it could force Jerry Jones to reconsider his stance. Letting the situation go any further risks damaging morale in a locker room that is adjusting to a new head coach.
The worst-case scenario for the Cowboys would be trading Parsons. Not only would it hurt team morale, but it could set a new precedent of Jones not paying star players. This will make it nearly impossible for players to want to come to or stay in Dallas.
For now, players are quietly supporting Parsons on social media, but they may soon need to speak out to help hmi secure a new contract.
