The Dallas Cowboys have done a good job this offseason to add more talent to this roster. That was much needed after going 7-10 in 2024 and missing out on the playoffs.

The offense added some juice between trades, free agency, and the NFL draft. In April, Dallas selected RB Jaydon Blue out of the University of Texas in the fifth round.

He joins Javontae Williams, Miles Sanders, and Phil Mafah in the backfield. Even though he's a rookie and will have to work his way up, he oozes confidence. At the NFLPA Rookie Premiere event, Blue predicted that he will win Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2025.

Jaydon Blue Predicts He’ll Win OROY

That kind of answer is what fans want to hear, considering Dallas was 27th in the league in rushing offense last season (100.3).

Blue is an explosive weapon in the backfield who can impact the game as both a runner and pass-catcher. Last season with the Longhorns, Blue compiled 730 rushing yards, 368 receiving yards, and 14 total touchdowns. Meanwhile, at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, Blue ran a 4.38 40-yard dash, showcasing his game-breaking speed.

The Texas native is already the fastest running back in the backfield for Dallas, and that speed will work in his favor to get on the field. OTAs and training camp are the next steps for Blue to get better as a player and show the coaching staff what he can do.

Whether or not Blue will actually win OROY remains to be seen, but his confidence is certainly sky high. When playing a sport like football, you need to be positive that you'll be impactful. If not, things can go south quickly, considering the average career for an NFL player is three years.

Blue seems ready to hit the ground running and looks to be one of the best players at his position as a rookie.
