The Dallas Cowboys have had an offseason full of moves when it comes to the coaching staff and roster. Despite being away for a few weeks ahead of training camp, America's Team is still looking to shake up the roster ahead of Brian Schottenheimer's first campaign as Cowboys head coach.

On Wednesday, the Cowboys agreed to terms with CB Robert Rochell on a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He was one of five players who worked out for Dallas last week, and he impressed Schottenheimer & Co. enough to get a deal.

Robert Rochell Joins Cowboys on 1-Year Deal After Minicamp

Rochell came into the league as a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft with the Los Angeles Rams. He spent two seasons with them before spending the last two years with the Green Bay Packers. The California native also had a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs; however, his stint lasted less than two months as he was waived by the Super Bowl runners-up on May 6.

After a little over a month in the unemployment line, Rochell has landed with the Cowboys and has a chance to stick on a roster to begin the 2025 season. Dallas' secondary depth could use some depth after going the 2024 campaign with each of its CBs playing only seven or fewer games.

The Cowboys' latest signing adds some much-needed insurance to that situation. In 48 career games, Rochell has 25 total tackles, four pass breakups, and one interception. He only has five starts under his belt, which all came during his rookie season in 2021.

He's played at least 40% of the special team snaps in three straight years, including a career-high 73% with the Rams in the 2022 season.

Dallas has DaRon Bland, Shavon Revel Jr., Caelen Carson, Josh Butler, Trevon Diggs, Kaiir Elam, C.J. Goodwin, Andrew Booth Jr., Israel Mukuamu, Kemon Hall, and Alijah Clark in the cornerback room. Rochell will have his work cut out to make the roster, but his special-teams ability will play in his favor.

The fact that Rochell played for the Cowboys' rival the Green Bay Packers, adds another element to this signing. He's the second former Packers cornerback to get a new deal on Wednesday after Jaire Alexander landed with the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal.

Rochell might not have the resume of Alexander, but the vet CB helps the Cowboys address a need they couldn't ignore for much longer.
