The Dallas Cowboys have undergone plenty of changes since hiring head coach Brian Schottenheimer, ranging from coaching staff hirings to free agent and draft additions. It's the fresh start America's Team needed after an abysmal seven-win performance last season.

Schottenheimer and his staff didn't waste any time winning over players and fans throughout this year's organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp. With that in mind, the same can't be said for a handful of the Cowboys' other offseason additions, including a veteran playmaker who's practically disappeared since being signed in March.

Cowboys WR Parris Campbell is Already a Disappointment

There's a good chance that some Cowboys fans have forgotten that WR Parris Campbell is on the roster. The former 2019 second-rounder was signed by Dallas to a one-year contract on March 15 and has since flown off the radar with each passing offseason activity.

Campbell arrived in the Lone Star State after winning Super Bowl 59 with the rival Philadelphia Eagles last season. Having said that, the 27-year-old playmaker didn't play much of a role in the NFC East rival's success. He only had six catches for 30 receiving yards and a touchdown in five regular-season games before failing to draw a target in three postseason appearances.

Even though that performance wasn't anything special, the Cowboys were still willing to bring in Campbell to flesh out their WR depth. It was only two seasons ago when he posted a 63-623-3 stat line with the Indianapolis Colts, and Dallas was hoping he could show signs of still being that receiver this spring.

Unfortunately, Campbell couldn't find a way to stick out in OTAs or minicamp. His name was barely mentioned on any reports, making it clear he's slipped further down the depth chart. With CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jonathan Mingo, Jalen Tolbert, and Jalen Brooks all easily ahead of him on the depth chart, Campbell would be lucky to be under consideration for the WR6 role at this point.

If he fails to impress during training camp and the preseason, it's hard to imagine Campbell lasting on the Cowboys' roster until September. Dallas owner/general manager Jerry Jones can create $1.03 million in salary cap savings by waiving or cutting the ex-Ohio State wideout, per Spotrac, giving the Cowboys a financial incentive to cut ties if a turnaround doesn't happen soon.

Unless he turns his disappointing offseason performance around, the Cowboys could end this Campbell experiment before it even begins.
