The NFL knows how to keep fans engaged throughout the offseason. The latest example of that was when the 2025 NFL schedule was officially released on Wednesday.
All 32 teams in the leagues know who they are going to play against from Weeks 1 to 18. The NFL loves to put the Cowboys on primetime, and that didn't change in 2025. Dallas is slated to have six primetime games, which isn't a shocker.
The biggest gripe with the schedule is that Dallas is the first team in league history to play in four Thursday games in a single season.
Cowboys Will Play in Four TNF Games in 2025
The Cowboys open the season on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. That isn't bad since it's in Week 1 and they have months to prepare for the contest. It's the remaining Thursday night games that give Dallas a disadvantage.
Before hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day in Week 13, the Cowboys will have the Eagles coming to town on that Sunday (Nov. 23).
They then travel to play the Detroit Lions in Week 14, in what will be a tough matchup since the Lions are one of the top teams in the league.
It doesn't stop there as the Cowboys have to travel to Northwest Stadium and face off against the Washington Commanders in Week 17 for a Christmas Day showdown on yet another game on Thursday. And who do the Cowboys play the week prior? The Los Angeles Chargers, another physically imposing team.
Not to mention, all of these contests will be held during a potential playoff push from late November through December.
Between Weeks 12-14, Dallas will have to play three games in a matter of 12 days. That is tough for any team, and with all these on a national platform on two major holidays only adds more pressure onto the Cowboys' plate.
Every matchup will be a huge test for Dallas, and they will need to bring their A-game if they want to come out on top. If not, this stretch could have a negative impact on their record and potential playoff chances.
