Cowboys Star Shows Support for Latest Rumored Coaching Candidate
By Cem Yolbulan
The Dallas Cowboys have officially kicked off their search for a new head coach after parting ways with Mike McCarthy earlier in the week. Jerry Jones has already started talking to potential candidates. Cowboys legend and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is reportedly at the top of the list.
Presumably, the Cowboys will have a process and consider more candidates in the coming weeks, but Sanders is widely expected to be the next head coach in Dallas. In fact, he already has supporters in the locker room. Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb recently liked an Instagram post about Fox's reporting on Jones' meeting with Coach Prime.
CeeDee Lamb Seemingly Endorses Deion Sanders as Next Cowboys Head Coach
Among the list of rumored candidates for the position are Bills OC Joe Brady, Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury, Eagles OC Kellen Moore, Lions OC Ben Johnson, and former Cowboys legend Jason Witten. The Cowboys will likely talk to at least a few of these candidates before making a final decision.
Lamb's apparent endorsement of Deion Sanders is understandable. Prime Time is one of the best football players of all time and is a franchise legend. He may not have the NFL coaching experience like some of the candidates mentioned above, but he certainly has the respect and reputation among the players.
Sanders has shown no indication so far that he is interested in leaving Colorado. In his first statement after his phone call with Jones, he said that he was happy in Boulder and loved his team in Colorado.
At the same time, he will likely never get as good of an opportunity to become an NFL head coach as he does right now. If he were to make that move, it looks like he will have the support of some of the highest-profile Cowboys players.
