Cowboys Target Star Playmaker in New Offseason Prediction
The Dallas Cowboys are 6-8 on the season and have slim chances of making the playoffs. The Cowboys are the 12th seed in a jam-packed NFC.
They need to win out and get help from multiple teams to even have a chance of making the playoffs. The odds of that happening are very low so speculation around the 2025 offseason has begun.
The Cowboys will have plenty of rumors surrounding a Micah Parsons extension but many holes on this roster need to be figured out. Bleacher Report's scouting department released an article discussing potential offseason moves for all 32 teams in the league.
In the piece, they suggest Dallas sign RB Najee Harris in free agency.
Both Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott will be free agents this offseason, so there will be a huge need for running back going into 2025. The ground attack has been inconsistent for the Cowboys this year. They are 27th in the league in rushing offense (99.8) and last in rushing touchdowns (4).
Dowdle has 880 rushing yards this season, including three straight games with more than 100 yards. He has elevated his play lately but the Cowboys could look elsewhere.
If they do, Harris may be an option. The Alabama product is a powerful and bruising tailback in the backfield. He also provides the team with a solid pass catcher in the backfield. In his career, Harris has compiled 4,160 rushing yards, 1,122 receiving yards, and 33 total touchdowns.
He could be someone who the Cowboys make their workhorse. Dallas' offense is at its best when they have an effective ground game.
Harris will turn 27 years old in March and is entering the prime years of his career. This could be an enticing option for the Cowboys, as they will seek to upgrade the roster for a bounce-back campaign in 2025.
