The Dallas Cowboys had a busy offseason that saw several players leave the Lone Star State, only to be replaced by fresh faces.

When free agency opened up in March, cornerback Jourdan Lewis left the Cowboys to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year, $30 million deal, making him the highest-paid nickelback in the league. He spent the first eight years in Dallas but decided to head down to Florida after getting big money.

During the Jaguars' mandatory minicamp, Lewis was making plays with his new team. According to John Sipley, Lewis "made impressive plays" and is looking to take more of a leadership role in Jacksonville.

Former Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis Isn’t Going to Be Missed in Dallas

The 29-year-old has been doing all the right things with his new team, but the Cowboys won't be missing him.

The Cowboys have Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland as two penciled-in starters. Over the past few months, they also traded for Kaiir Elam and drafted Shavon Revel Jr. in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. While Elam and Revel are more outside corners as opposed to the slot where Lewis played, the secondary has a ton of talent.

Israel Mukuamu has been taking snaps in the slot and seems poised to be a threat to start there this season. He's a Swiss army knife who can line up in multiple spots. Bland has also taken some reps in the slot during OTAs and minicamp.

Although the Cowboys don't know who will replace Lewis just yet, it's only June. They have a nice collection of players who are talented enough to step into the role.

The Cowboys didn't have to pay $10 million to re-sign Lewis. They have five players who are slated to make double figures in 2025, and with a mega Micah Parsons extension on the horizon, they are happy they didn't have to pay a corner who will be 30 years old by the time the 2025 season kicks off.

Lewis is doing well in Jacksonville but Dallas won't be missing the Michigan product.
