It's been all smiles for the Dallas Cowboys so far in training camp. One of the more popular phrases on social media, and by Dak Prescott, is "GOTI," which means the greatest offense there is, but he needs to be careful.
Now, many fans would agree with his statement. As they should, but is this Prescott being on top of the world, confident, or too cocky? There's not much pushback when we talk about the Cowboys' offense being top tier. Prescott has CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jake Ferguson and Ryan Flournoy to throw the ball to. Not bad.
But the reason why some on social media are roasting this phrase is that it's too soon to throw that out there. There are plenty of other offenses in the picture who can be considered the best this season, and Prescott can't be throwing that phrase out there in the first week of training camp.
Other offenses can easily be considered "the greatest" in the NFL in 2026
We know how polarizing a team the Dallas Cowboys can be, which is exactly why it's gold for opposing fan bases to be laughing at this.
The Buffalo Bills have been in the conversation with Josh Allen for a while now, and they upgraded at wide receiver with D.J. Moore. The Bills also have two offensive tackles who have held the fort down for many years together.
The Chicago Bears have a trending offense with Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, and a well-improved offensive line last season.
The favorites to win the Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams, are probably at the top of lists. They have the reigning MVP and two All-Pro WRs, Puka Nacua and Devante Adams.
The Lions, Bengals and Patriots are in the conversation, too, but you get the point.
There are other offenses in the running as well, but the Cowboys still have questions on the offensive line, specifically with Tyler Guyton, who's under a lot of heat this offseason for his pass-blocking last season. We also haven't forgotten about Terence Steele, who has struggled at times but has proven to be the only answer the Cowboys have at right tackle.
We know how urgent it is for Prescott, at 33, to break the generational curse that has haunted Cowboys fans for three decades, but he has to take it one step at a time. He's always been an ultra-competitor who loves this team, and fans wouldn't want anyone else to lead the team, but it's a long way to go before we could call the Cowboys' offense the best.
Things are looking high, but Prescott should wait next time before throwing out phrases like the one he did.
