Dan Quinn Makes Incredibly Petty Move for First Game Against Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders square off for the first time in 2024 on Sunday. These NFC East rivals collide at Northwest Stadium in Week 12, and this will be the first contest between the Cowboys and former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
Quinn was the defensive coordinator in Dallas from 2021-2023 before becoming the head coach of the Commanders in February. He's led Washington to a 7-4 record thus far as they push to make the playoffs.
While the attention from both sides is all about taking down a divisional rival, Quinn made three former Cowboys captains for this game.
Cowboys News: Three Ex-Cowboys Will Captains for Washington in Week 12
According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, Tyler Biadasz, Dante Fowler, and Noah Igbinoghene will all be captains for Washington in this contest. All three players were in Dallas with Quinn before joining the Commanders this offseason.
Multiple guys followed him to Washington and helped shift the culture over there. With it being a big game emotionally for these guys, he wanted to make sure they were captains.
They will walk out to the midfield for the coin toss and represent Washington with a bit more pride than normal. The energy in this game will be through the roof as both sides want to violate the other. Mixing in former players/coaches along with a hated rivalry, and there will be a lot of passion on the football field.
This will also be Dallas' first time facing off against rookie sensation Jayden Daniels, who looks all the parts of a franchise quarterback.
This game has multiple storylines coming in and Quinn's latest move only adds to it.
