While Dallas Cowboys fans are excited to see how the team's offseason moves perform on the gridiron, the fanbase also can't wait to see returning players in action.

DeMarvion Overshown is one fan favorite who fans can't wait to see patrolling the field in September. Simultaneous ACL, MCL, and PCL tears saw the third-year pass rusher's 2024 campaign end prematurely, marking the second straight year Overshown has dealt with a significant knee injury.

Fortunately, Overshown's recovery has been going exceptionally well this offseason. The former 2023 second-rounder recently revealed that he has his sights set on the 2025 NFL Comeback of the Year award, and has since followed up that announcement by making Cowboys history.

DeMarvion Overshow Becomes 1st Cowboys Player to Wear No. 0

On Wednesday morning, the Cowboys revealed that Overshown will be switching jersey numbers from 13 to 0. Not only will the former Texas Longhorn be switching back to his collegiate number, but the change also makes him the first player in Dallas history to wear No. 0.

"As soon as they changed the policy where you can now wear No. 0 in the NFL, I just knew it was meant to be," Overshown revealed about his jersey change. "Being the first one to wear it at Texas, growing up a Longhorn and a Cowboy in the great state of Texas β€” I wear it as a badge of honor."

The offseason change isn't the first time that Overshown has made jersey history in the Lone Star State. He was also the first player in University of Texas history to wear No. 0, too, making it an ongoing trend throughout his career.

Overshown's main nickname is "Agent 0," meaning the switch to No. 0 wasn't completely surprising. Interestingly enough, though, Cowboys writer Patrik Walker revealed that an anonymous Dallas veteran was also vying for the same number before ultimately deferring it to the Tyler, TX native.

Time will tell if reverting to his college number will help Overshown's game reach the next level. The 24-year-old disruptor racked up 56 solo tackles, five sacks, four broken-up passes, and a Pick-6 in 13 games last season before going down with injury. He finished the year with the 11th-best Pro Football Focus pass-rush grade (78.9) among eligible linebackers.

As impressive as that showing was, the third-year defender also let Cowboys fans know that the best is yet to come.

"It's just like when Superman put on his cape. When I put that No. 0 on, it's really Agent 0 out there," Overshown declared, leaving time to tell if his 2025 performance will match his words.
