While the Dallas Cowboys' selections in the 2025 NFL Draft were generally praised, they still made a few head-scratching decisions. One of those was completely ignoring the wide receiver room.

Despite having a desperate need for quality pass-catchers, the Cowboys prioritized elsewhere. That doesn't mean, however, that Dallas won't be adding to the receiving corps.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, there are still high-level receivers available in free agency. Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, and Elijah Moore are quality options that the Cowboys should seriously consider signing.

Cooper and Allen are obviously aging, but they can still contribute at a high level. They are also clear upgrades over the Cowboys' options outside of CeeDee Lamb.

Cowboys Can Still Replace WR Jonathan Mingo in Free Agency

The most obvious WR to be replaced on the roster is Jonathan Mingo. After he was acquired at the trade deadline for a fourth-round pick, the former Panther disappointed immensely in Dallas. In eight games with the Cowboys, Mingo had five catches in 16 targets for 46 yards. For an offense that needed all the help it could get, Mingo was a total non-factor, failing to make an impact whatsoever.

Since he was a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Mingo has yet to score a touchdown. He should continue to get chances because of his stature and reputation, but his time in Dallas won't last much longer if he doesn't show a significant improvement in training camp.

The Cowboys currently have Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin as their primary receivers after Lamb. Mingo, along with Parris Campbell, Ryan Flournoy, and Jalen Brooks, will fight for a role on the offense, but the Cowboys would be wise to add a more reliable veteran pass-catcher to push Mingo and the other WRs further down the pecking order.
