The 2025 NFL draft is a week away, and Dallas Cowboys fans can't wait to see what owner/general manager Jerry Jones does with his stockpile of picks. America's Team currently holds 10 selections for next week's draft, with the No. 12 pick being the best of the bunch, opening the door for the Cowboys to land a true impact prospect.

While many intriguing prospects have landed in the Cowboys' lap in various mock drafts, one of the most frequent names mentioned is Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Between the 21-year-old RB's local ties and game-changing talents, Cowboys fans certainly won't complain if he is this year's 12th overall selection.

Cowboys Draft News: Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty Details Bizarre Jerry Jones Meeting

Much like other top prospects, Jeanty recently met up with the Cowboys front office amid the 2025 draft's lead-up. The 2,600-yard rusher spoke about his experience during a recent interview with FanDuel TV's Kay Adams, which included quite the bizarre interaction with the franchise's eccentric owner.

"When I came into the room, (Jones) was holding this championship belt and just looking at it," Jeanty said, remarking on the Cowboys owner's larger-than-life personality. "I was like, 'Where's this gonna go?'

Naturally, Adams asked Jeanty about the nature of the belt, to which the Boise State RB replied that he thinks it was from one of the numerous boxing events that took place at AT&T Stadium over the years. When asked why Jones brought the belt out in the first place, the promising prospect revealed that it could've been the 82-year-old billionaire's way of hinting at some upcoming expectations.

"Maybe he thinks I can be a champ or something," Jeanty theorized.

If any 2025 prospect has champion-like qualities, it's Jeanty. The ex-Lone Star High School RB just led all college players in carries (374) and rushing yards (2,601) while also finishing with the second-most ground scores (29) in the nation.

The Cowboys' RB room needed a new No. 1 runner when Rico Dowdle left in free agency this offseason. Dallas has since signed veteran backfielders Javonte Williams and Miles Sandres to one-year contracts, however, neither has the upside that Jeanty would bring to the table.

It won't be long until Cowboys fans know if they should start ordering any Jeanty jerseys. Round 1 of the 2025 NFL draft begins next Thursday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.
