The Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders are set to match up in an NFC East showdown on Sunday.

This will be the first time that Dan Quinn is facing off against the Cowboys since leaving this past offseason to become the head coach of the Commanders.

The 2024 season has been completely different for these two teams. The Cowboys are 3-7 on the season, while Washington is 7-4 and is fighting for a playoff spot in the NFC.

Quinn was the defensive coordinator in Dallas from 2021-2023 and had that unit playing at a high level. Once he went to Washington, multiple players went with him and one of those guys took a shot at Dallas this week.

Cowboys News: Ex-Cowboy Dorance Armstrong Talks About Team

Defensive lineman Dorance Armstrong was asked about what's been going down with the Cowboys and he took time to answer with a grin on his face. He answered, "It's not good. I'll leave it at that."

Armstrong was drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Cowboys and spent six seasons with the team. He played in 93 games in Dallas, logging 169 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and 23.5 sacks.

In the offseason, he went to join the Commanders on a three-year deal that is worth up to $45 million. Now that he is no longer with the Cowboys, he wasted no time in taking a shot at his former team.

Quinn also decided to make Tyler Biadasz, Dante Fowler, and Noah Igbinoghene team captains for this week. That in combination with the comments from Armstrong showcases how the Cowboys are being perceived this year and it isn't in a positive light.

Armstrong could have taken a different approach to the question but instead, he wanted to say the team isn't good enough. The rivalry between these teams has taken a jump this year and will get handled on the field on Sunday.
