Don't expect this ex-Dallas OL to thrive in his new surroundings.

The Dallas Cowboys, much like the rest of the NFL, have seen plenty of players join and leave the franchise throughout the 2025 offseason. The future is promising under head coach Brian Schottenheimer's watch; however, the new-look Cowboys wouldn't be possible had America's Team not said goodbye to several veterans since the beginning of March.

Some ex-Cowboys will succeed with their new teams, whereas others will struggle to see a lick of playing time. When it comes to the latter category, one recently departed Dallas offensive lineman is on track to sabotage his new team from the inside.

Former Cowboys OL Chuma Edoga Will Sabotage Jaguars from Inside

Chuma Edoga is one of the familiar faces who left the Lone Star State this offseason. After spending the last two seasons with the Cowboys, the veteran offensive guard joined the Jacksonville Jaguars on a two-year, $7 million contract as soon as free agency opened.

Edoga's time in Dallas was mixed, to say the least. Joining the team in 2023 to replace Connor McGovern, Edoga ended up making five starts while playing all 17 games in his debut Cowboys season. It wasn't his best performance; however, he still recorded solid Pro Football Focus grades regarding pass blocking (63.7) and overall offense (61.4) while only giving up three pressures.

Unfortunately, that's about as good as it got for Edoga. Injuries held the former USC Trojan out of the Cowboys' lineup until Week 13, and it was clear he wasn't the same player upon his return. His PFF grades for pass (50.5) and run (56.6) protection were both noticeably down from last year's performance, while his mark of 52.2 for offense was the worst since his rookie season.

Despite the lackluster performance and recent injury history, the Jaguars still signed Edoga to a two-year contract. Even though it wasn't the biggest deal signed this offseason, it could age ugly if the former Cowboys blocker's performance begins to regress, whether due to age or another injury.

Ezra Cleveland is currently the Jaguars' starting left guard, with Edoga projected as his top backup. With that in mind, Jacksonville's offense (and quarterback Trevor Lawrence's health) could be in jeopardy if Cleveland goes down, forcing HC Liam Coen to thrust Edoga into a role he likely can't handle.

Edoga served his purpose during his time in Dallas, but it's clear the Cowboys made the right decision to move on when they did. Offensive linemen are supposed to protect a franchise's investment under center, and now it's time for the Jaguars to learn that Edoga isn't that type of player the hard way.
