As we approach the end of the NFL season, plenty of teams around the league and college football will make significant changes to their coaching staff and personnel. Plenty of former Cowboys will find new homes in the coming weeks. In fact, it already started with one former defensive coach.
Oklahoma State announced on Sunday that they were hiring Todd Grantham as their new defensive coordinator following their 3-9 season. Grantham had previously worked as a defensive line coach for the Cowboys for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Grantham served as the defensive line coach for two seasons under head coach Wade Phillips. He played a big part in taking the 13th-best defense in the league and turning it into the second-best unit in 2009. The Cowboys had an 11-5 record for the season before losing to the Vikings in the Divisional Round.
After that loss, Grantham left to be the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the Georgia Bulldogs. He continued his career in the NCAA until he joined the Saints under head coach Dennis Allen in 2023.
Grantham is bringing a ton of experience to his new position at Oklahoma State. His most recent collegiate experience was under Nick Saban at Alabama as a defensive analyst.
Despite going 0-9 in the Big 12 this season, the Cowboys are bringing back head coach Mike Gundy. The 58-year-old Grantham will try to revive a program that has struggled immensely recently.
