It did not take long for Dallas Cowboys fans to see recently acquired wide receiver George Pickens make a change to the way he will look when he takes the field for the first time in a real game.
After initially choosing No. 13 after being traded to the Cowboys by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickens has decided it was time for a change and swung a deal with Dallas defender George Pickens. While we don't know what the terms of the deal to switch numbers were, one can assume that Fowler came away with quite the haul, whatever it was.
George Pickens Swings Deal For New Cowboys Jersey Number
Pickens will have to let fans know just what led him to wanting the No. 3. That was not the jersey number he donned during his collegiate days with the Georgia Bulldogs or his standout prep career in Alabama at Hoover High School. It surely has some significance to Pickens, though, for him to make this deal with Fowler.
In the end, Cowboys fans and coaches are far more concerned with what Pickens does on the field rather than what number he is wearing while lining up on the outside. If wearing the No. 3 will help Pickens play to his full potential in Dallas, something his former quarterback, Russell Wilson, expects to happen, then it will be worth whatever the cost happens to be.
With Pickens and CeeDee Lamb set to be Dak Prescott's top options on the outside, the Cowboys' aerial attack should be much improved during the 2025 campaign. If all three live up to their potential, this trio could be among the best the NFL has to offer.
One thing is for sure: We'll see just what this group is made of right out of the gates as Dallas will travel to Philadelphia to take on the defending champions on Sept. 4.
