Even though the Dallas Cowboys weren't playing, the country had its eyes turned to the AT&T Stadium on Friday night. One of the most anticipated sports events of the year, the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight took place in Jerry World. The Cowboys owner and general manager didn't miss the opportunity to take the spotlight.
The fight was broadcast by Netflix as part of their recent forays into streaming live events. One incident during Jones' remarks before the fight drew the attention of viewers around the country.
Jerry Jones saying Netflix is a huge part of the NFL’s future into a mic that doesn’t work and then less than a minute later the stream goes down.

Just when Jones was complimenting Netflix and their great achievement in putting the event together, his microphone was cut out. Immediately after, the stream went down for viewers. This resulted in a social media frenzy.
Jones' words about Netflix itself were also eyebrow-raising. When discussing potential future partnerships between the NFL and the streaming platform, it was a little too obvious that Jones wasn't too familiar with Netflix.
"We’re all being introduced to Netflix. We’re so excited in the NFL about Netflix becoming a huge part of our future. This tonight gives us a chance to go to forty, fifty million people and do it from right here."Jerry Jones
Saying that the world was being introduced to Netflix, Jones couldn't hide his excitement about the platform and how many viewers it can reach.
The NFL and Netflix have already partnered up for a Christmas Day doubleheader of Chiefs vs. Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans. They are looking to further expand to live coverage of other sports. Whether Jerry's faux pas or technical difficulties from Friday night will have an impact on that remains to be seen.
