It was a heartbreaker when Micah Parsons was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers amid a contract saga, but his feelings for the Cowboys didn't completely fade.
Rashan Gary, former Packers outside linebacker, recently mentioned his former teammate after training camp. Gary said that Parsons gave him words of wisdom when Gary left the Packers, and it's clear Parsons still has a heart for the team that he demanded a trade from.

It's usually an offseason of contract antics for Jerry Jones, and unfortunately, last season, it ended the Cowboys' tenure with Parsons.
It felt like the earth stood still for Cowboys fans when they found out that Parsons demanded a trade, but it felt real when he went to the Packers of all places. It felt like it ended badly, but Parsons has since regretted the way things ended. He still feels a love for the Cowboys fans and has no hate toward them or even the organization itself.
Now, the Joneses are in full revamp mode, hoping to build around Quinnen Williams, DeMarvion Overshown and Caleb Downs. The rookie from Ohio State is already fitting in, and if the Cowboys owner calls him the "pied piper," there's something right going on.
Since his tenure with the Packers, he's recorded 12.5 sacks, 19 solo tackles and two forced fumbles. He has since torn his ACL, and sources say his timeline falls in line with playing against the Cowboys. In his reunion game against the Cowboys in 2025, he recorded three tackles and a sack. It looked weird to see the All-Pro as a Cowboy sack Prescott, but that's what happened.
During his tenure with the Cowboys, Parsons finished with 213 combined tackles, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries across 58 regular-season games. That's not something easy to walk away from, and fans will never forget his immediate impact with Dallas.
Parsons' sentiment is something we can all agree with. The Cowboys are a team where you feel taken care of. Players know the expectations that come with wearing the star on your helmet, and being with the Cowboys is like a second family.
Gary came into Dallas as someone who can change the pass rush. He may not have an immediate impact, but he's already stepping up as a leader with Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark.
What started ugly has a positive ending. Parsons may not ever suit up again in a Cowboys uniform, but at least there's no bad blood.
