As April continues, the Dallas Cowboys are ready to firmly leave their abysmal 2024 performance in the past. The Brian Schottenheimer era is officially underway, and the Cowboys' new head coach has started his tenure right by saying all the right things to fans while also getting his players — both new and returning — to buy into his message.
Cowboys fans are excited to see how Schottenheimer will take advantage of the team's top players, including DeMarvion Overshown. The talented pass rusher is currently rehabbing from a serious injury, leaving time to tell when he'll finally be healthy enough to make his gridiron return.
Fortunately, Overshown provided the fanbase with a much-needed injury update as April continues.
Cowboys News: DeMarvion Overshown Eyeing Mid-2025 Season Return
Wednesday was a fairly big day for Overshown. Not only did the Cowboys disruptor announce that he'll be putting No. 0 on his jersey going forward, but NFL insider Jordan Schultz also revealed that the former 2023 second-rounder is hoping to join his teammates before the 2025 campaign's second half.
"(Overshown) has been progressing well in his recovery from a significant knee injury," Schultz reported after speaking to team sources. "There's optimism he could return around the middle of the 2025 season."

Assuming that Schultz's sources are accurate, it looks like Overshown is eyeing a late-October/early-November return. He tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 10, meaning the recovery process will have lasted about 10 or 11 months barring any unexpected setbacks.
As great as it is to see his recovery going well, Overshown and his supporters are hoping this injury will be the final major ailment he deals with. Although his horrific knee injury is awful in a vacuum, the situation is even worse considering that the Tyler, TX native missed his entire rookie campaign with an ACL tear.
Hopefully, Overshown will hit his recovery date and return to form when he rejoins Schottenheimer's lineup. His aggressiveness across the field left Cowboys fans excited about Overshown's future, as he finished his first full NFL campaign with 56 solo tackles and five sacks en route to earning the 11th-best pass rush grade among linebackers (78.9) on Pro Football Focus.
Continuing with his recovery and getting back to full health is not only paramount for Overshown to pick up from where he left off, but to also help the Cowboys return to the NFL postseason.
America's Team will likely need more than another strong showing from "Agent 0" to clinch a playoff berth next season, though. After all, FanDuel Sportsbook is currently favoring the Under (-120) on the Cowboys' projected 7.5-win total for the 2025 campaign.
