3 Cowboys on the Nice List (& 2 on the Naughty List) This Christmas
By Evan Starr
Christmas is right around the corner and playoff football is right there with it. Just three games remain in the Dallas Cowboys regular season, and they already find themselves with 10 wins, a third-straight playoff berth, and tied at the top of the NFC East. This sets Dallas up to roll into January trying to do something they have not done in almost 3 decades: make an NFC Championship game.
But before we jump the gun too much, we got a sneak peek at Santa's list a few days early only to find a few familiar faces on both sides.
Here are 3 Cowboys features on this years' nice list and 2 that were not so lucky.
Nice: Brandon Aubrey
For the first time since Dan Bailey in 2017, the Cowboys have a reliable kicker. It has been a minute since we have felt this confident when the field goal unit takes the field. Since Bailey, the kicking spot on America's team has been some sort of revolving door with Maher, Zuerliein, Maher again, and now Aubrey. A revolving door filled with anxiety and high blood pressure.
Coming off of last year's playoff debacle when Brett Maher got the yips at the worst possible time, Aubrey has come in and is doing the impossible.... being consistent. Aubrey is a perfect 31-for-31 including hitting from 60 in Week 14. The former Notre Dame soccer player has reduced the risk of heart attack and stroke among Cowboys fans significantly.
So for that, Brandon Aubrey gets a spot on the nice list. This better not jinx the rest of the season.
