The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2024 NFL Draft with several holes on the roster. They’re thin at running back, left tackle, center, wide receiver, and linebacker. Their inactivity in free agency means they’ll be looking for starters with their first two — or maybe even three — selections. The problem is that they’re not going to be able to fill every hole.

That’s why they’re a team to watch during the draft. With seven picks, the Cowboys could look to drop down and add more selections. They could also try and get some mid-to-late round draft capital by attempting to trade one of these three players.

3. Nahshon Wright, CB

Dallas feels comfortable enough with Trevon Diggs (who is returning from a torn ACL), DaRon Bland, and Jourdan Lewis that they decided against bringing back Stephon Gilmore. It was disappointing to see them move on since Gilmore played well in 2023 and expressed a desire to return for another year.

To be fair, the Cowboys have done well recently when adding corners in the draft with Diggs and Bland standing out as home-run selections. Another player they were once excited about, but has hardly seen the field, is Nahshon Wright.

A third-round pick in 2021, Wright has appeared in 32 games and has 37 tackles, five pass defenses, and an interception. Primarily used on special teams, Wright has impressive size at 6-foot-4 but doesn’t have a clear path to this roster. Perhaps the Cowboys can find a partner willing to give up a late-round pick for his potential upside.
