3. CB Stephon Gilmore

In a campaign where the Cowboys lost star cornerback Trevon Diggs to a season-ending ACL tear, Stephon Gilmore did his part to ensure that Dallas had one of the NFL's best secondaries.

After being acquired from the Indianapols Colts last offseason, Gilmore was nothing short of solid for the Cowboys in 2023. Between the regular season and playoffs, the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year only surrendered 50 receptions on 91 targets for 653 yards and four touchdowns, earning a 72.3 coverage grade and 74.4 defensive mark, per Pro Football Focus. He also broke up nine passes and hauled in a pair of interceptions.

With Gilmore proving he still has 'it' while DaRon Bland enjoyed a breakout performance, the Cowboys finished the season with the third-fewest passing yards allowed.

But even after his 12th NFL campaign was a success, Gilmore is still without an employer. Some Cowboys fans are open to a return, however, that might not be in the cards after the veteran CB seemingly took a shot at Dallas owner Jerry Jones' lack of spending this offseason.

Having said that, I doubt he'll enter the 2024 season without a job.

Gilmore might not be in his prime anymore, but the last year proved that the 33-year-old still has plenty left in the tank. It's entirely possible that his availability has more to do with his looking for the right fit rather than teams just not being interested in his services.
