Even though we've already arrived at Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, these three former Dallas Cowboys are still struggling to find work.

It's hard to believe that we're already at Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season. The Dallas Cowboys opened the campaign on a high note as they look to end their Super Bowl drought, having notched a 33-17 lopsided win over the Cleveland Browns to begin the new schedule.

As the Cowboys prepare to host the New Orleans Saints in Week 2, it can be a fun exercise to check in on how some ex-Dallas players are doing. While certain individuals are thriving in their new environment, others are still standing in the unemployment line as they await their next opportunity.

With that being said, here are three ex-Cowboys who are entering Week 2 unemployed.

1. Martavis Bryant, WR

Outside of CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, it isn't a secret that the Cowboys' wide receiver depth was lacking in 2023. It got to the point where Dallas reached out and signed former 2014 fourth-round pick Martavis Bryant to the practice squad in November.

It was a surprising move at the time given that Bryant hasn't played an NFL snap since 2018. The former Clemson Tiger was essentially blackballed from the league for five years after violating the league's drug policy multiple times during his stint with the then-Oakland Raiders.

Even though Bryant didn't play any games with the Cowboys, the franchise brought him back on a futures contract in January. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old playmaker failed to prove that he belonged in Big D, resulting in his release just four months later.

Bryant did manage to land a contract with the rival Washington Commanders in August, however, he was unable to hold onto a roster spot again. He caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in two preseason games before the Commanders waived him ahead of the 53-man roster deadline.

Unless Bryant figures out to prove that he has something left in the tank, his NFL career could be over.
