3 Most Likely Micah Parsons Trade Destinations if Rumors Are True

This would certainly upset Cowboys fans in a big way. Not only would they be losing one of their best players, but also their biggest rival and a fellow contender would be acquiring him. For that reason alone, it's hard to see Jerry Jones trading Parsons to Philadelphia.

Everything has a price, however. The trade rumor circulating in social media involved the Eagles' first-round pick this year, their third-round pick in 2026, and their 2023 first-round selection Nolan Smith.

The Eagles had high hopes for Smith but the Georgia product only played in 16% of snaps last season in the deep edge rotation in Philadelphia. If the Cowboys were to land him, he would be an intriguing developmental project and a fine replacement for Parsons.

The draft compensation in such a deal is likely not sufficient. For the Cowboys to consider trading Parsons to a division rival, they would need to be swept off their feet with a trade offer. A first-rounder and a third-rounder are nice but not enough.

Considering that the Eagles already have Bryce Huff, Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham, and Zack Baun in the rotation, they might not want to break the bank for Micah Parsons, both in terms of a trade package but also in a new contract extension.

If the Cowboys lose Micah Parsons ahead of next season, it would shift their odds for next season significantly. They are currently +125 favorites to win the NFC East, slightly ahead of the Eagles. They need to retain their core roster to have a chance to make a deep postseason run.
