3. DaRon Bland
The 24-year-old corner is probably not underrated as a player. Everyone knows that DaRon Bland is an elite cornerback in the league now. However, what might have fallen under the radar is what he did in the 2023 season.
Bland's statistical resume is unlike anything we have ever seen before. Nine interceptions are impressive on his own, but adding an NFL record of five defensive touchdowns puts you in an all-time great category. This was one of the greatest cornerback performances for a season.
On top of all of it, Bland had 69 total tackles, three tackles for loss and 15 passes defended. He allowed only a 59.5% completion rate when targeted.
His success in pass coverage is well-documented, but his ability to defend the run is underappreciated. According to PFF, Bland ranks second among all cornerbacks in rush defense with a 90 grade, making him one of the best all-around defenders in the NFL.
