Ezekiel Elliott

It's impossible to not mention Zeke after saying that the run game has been a disaster.

Sometimes it doesn't feel fair to pile on Ezekiel Elliott since he is far from being the biggest problem the Cowboys are facing. It's not his fault that the team brought him to be one of their primary rushers after he clearly showed that he was past his prime last season.

It's looking like head coach Mike McCarthy is seeing that first-hand as Zeke's usage has been going down consistently since Week 1. He saw 10 snaps yesterday, significantly lower than Rico Dowdle's 25 and Hunter Luepke's 29. He had five carries for 19 yards and one reception for 5 yards for the game.

Elliott is averaging 3.4 yards per carry for the season, even lower than his miserable then career-low 3.5 from last season. He clearly has lost the trust of the coaching staff and may see his workload reduced even more in the following weeks.
