5 Most Likely Cowboys Inactives vs. Giants in Week 10
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a disappointing five-point loss to the Philadelphia Eagles where they simply didn't have enough to pull out the victory. Dallas can't afford to let the sting of that game hang around, however, as it's a new week.
The New York Giants provide the perfect bounce-back matchup this upcoming Sunday, though not everyone on the active roster will get a chance to contribute. With that said, here are the most likely inactives for the Cowboys in Week 10.
Predicting Cowboys Inactives Week 10
1. Jalen Brooks
Even though we're at the halfway point of the season, Dallas is still trying to find production at wide receiver. The team is so desperate to give star CeeDee Lamb some help that they've signed veteran Martavis Bryant to the practice squad, who hasn't played in an NFL game since 2018.
With the Cowboys considering bold alternatives, it's clear rookie Jalen Brooks won't be getting a shot to contribute anytime soon. He's heard his name called just twice all season and played in just 20 total offensive snaps so far as he's buried on the depth chart.
Bryant's arrival just adds another contender for playing time to this crowded mix. There's no reason to expect Brooks' role to somehow increase when this squad is adding outside help.
2. Deuce Vaughn
Deuce Vaugh, meanwhile, had a role to begin the season but was relegated to the bench after Week 5 following unimpressive results.
It's clear Dallas' run game isn't what it was last season, with the passing attack instead taking center stage. That leaves less room for experimenting in the backfield, which certainly hurts Vaughn's chances of getting back into the RB rotation.
Coming off of two huge Dak Prescott performances, the offense is sure to lean on the air attack again in Week 10, so there's no reason to believe Vaughn makes a sudden return this Sunday.
