5. Racey McMath, Wide Receiver

The Cowboys might not have a lot of big names behind CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks but they have several capable receivers vying for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Jalen Brooks turned heads right away in the preseason opener, hauling in a 43-yard pass from Cooper Rush. That set up the first field goal of the game, and it could have been a touchdown if the pass had a little more air under it.

Another Jalen, Jalen Cropper, also played well for the Cowboys in the opener. He had 26 yards on four receptions but could have had a touchdown as well. He beat his guy in the end zone on a fourth-down play but Trey Lance overthrew him.

There's also rookie Ryan Flournoy, who struggled with a dropped pass and a fumble, and veteran Tyron Billy-Johnson who has been a monster in the offseason. Throw in Cam Johnson and Deontay Burnett who each stood out in the preseason and it's going to be tough for Racey McMath to make it to the regular season.

A sixth-round pick out of LSU in 2021, McMath began his career with the Tennessee Titans. He was there for two years and split time with the Indianapolis Colts and Cowboys' practice squads in 2023. He flashed his talent at LSU but the depth is too great for him to overcome in Big D.
