After a rout of the New York Giants on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys turn their attention to the New York Jets in Week 2. With the Jets playing on Monday Night Football, Mike McCarthy and co. got the chance to scout their opponents in real time.

However, it appears McCarthy may not be facing his old quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, in Week 2 after all.

Rodgers came up hobbled on Monday night after being sacked on the Jets' very first drive. He fell to the ground and was escorted off of the field by trainers. The three-time MVP then needed a cart to the locker room, where he received X-rays on his ankle before ultimately being ruled out of the contest.

Though we don't know the exact details of Rodgers' injury, the potential impact of this is obvious. The star quarterback was acquired by New York this offseason via trade with the expectation of elevating the Jets to true contender status.

Now his availability for Week 2 is in jeopardy, and that's just the start. At nearly 40 years old, Rodgers doesn't have the benefit of youth and quick healing on his side. Even if it's only a ankle sprain, that's still enough to sideline players for several games.

Part of the reason Rodgers ended up on the ground in the first place was the fact his offensive line played absolutely horrid. They allowed pressures on all three dropbacks by Rodgers, so it's honestly no surprise disaster struck.

New York's O-line appears to be every bit of the weakness experts saw in the lead up to the regular season, and that terrible news for whoever is under center against the Cowboys in Week 2. Dan Quinn's pass rush is already firing on all cylinders, racking up seven sacks against the Giants and creating three turnovers in Week 1.

So it looks like the Jets will be starting either a hobbled Rodgers or the previously benched Zach Wilson, who's been a TO machine to begin his career. Sounds like the recipe for another blowout victory for Dallas.
