Contract talks have overshadowed the Cowboys' offseason. They are coming off a season where they failed to make any noise in the playoffs.

Now their stars like CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and Micah Parsons have expressed desires to ink new deals.

Prescott and Parsons still decided to head to training camp but Lamb has steered clear. Jerry Jones recently walked back his comments that he didn't feel any urgency to pay Lamb and the latest report shows the Cowboys and Lamb may be close to a resolution.

NFL Rumors: Dallas Offered Ceedee Lamb Massive Extension

Pretty Rickey on X, who is known for his underground NFL reporting, revealed that Dallas offered Lamb a four-year extension that is worth $33.5 million per year. If that deal is true, that would make him the second-highest-paid wide receiver, behind Justin Jefferson.

After watching the 2020 first-round pick for the past four seasons, he showcased he's one of the best playmakers in the NFL.

The 25-year-old has 395 receptions (569 targets) for 5,145 receiving yards, and 32 touchdowns. Just last season, he racked up a career-best 1,749 receiving yards and 12 scores.

The Cowboys aren't the same team without Lamb so getting him back is huge. Training camp has been happening in Oxnard, California since July 24 but Lamb isn't there cause he wants his money.

Dallas needs to find a way to get this resolved quickly so they put this storyline behind them. Then the focus will shift onto the regular season as the Cowboys travel to Cleveland Browns Stadium to take on the Browns for Week 1 on Sept. 8.

Another thing for Jerry Jones to consider is the price for wide receivers continues to go up. Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers is also looking to ink an extension so Dallas would be smart to lock up Lamb beforehand.
