Cowboys Get Bad Micah Parsons Injury News After Thursday Night Football
The Dallas Cowboys got back in the win column on Thursday Night Football. After losing two games in a row, the Cowboys went on the road to beat the New York Giants 20-15.
That win was needed to get back to 2-2 but that doesn't mean everything was flawless for the Cowboys. In the matchup, EDGE Micah Parsons was carted off the field with a concerning leg injury and on Friday it was revealed what that injury was.
Cowboys News: Micah Parsons Feared To Have High Ankle Sprain
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network announced the initial diagnosis was a high ankle sprain for Parsons. Those typically take four-to-six weeks to heal but they are waiting on an MRI to see how serious it is. The injury happened when guard Greg Van Roten landed on the back of Parsons' leg late in the fourth quarter.
That isn't ideal for the Cowboys, as Parsons is the best player on the defensive side of the ball. It wasn't a great Week 4 for the Penn State product, who suffered a neck injury earlier in the game as well.
The good news is the Cowboys don't have another game for 10 days, giving Parsons some extra time to heal. If the 25-year-old does have to miss, you can look at the games against the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers as ones to monitor.
Dallas has a bye in Week 7, and they could use these next three weeks to give their star rusher time to rest.
We'll have to wait and see the severity of this injury before anything gets discussed.
